PlayPumps are sustainable systems for drawing clean water which are powered by childrens' merry-go-rounds.

Raw footage of animated maps for <a href="http://www.ghostrobot.com/features/2000/08/cropsey.html">Cropsey</a>, an upcoming "horror documentary" about child abductions—both rumored and real—in New York City.
</p>

<p>
The action takes place on Staten Island, probably the least well-known of the five boroughs of NYC. The directors therefore wanted to use maps to aid the storytelling.

<a href="http://www.localprojects.net">Local Projects</a>, in collaboration with <a href="http://www.citylore.org/">CityLore</a>, is developing City of Memory, a map-based interface to an archive of stories about New York City. City of Memory is scheduled to launch in late 2006.

<p>
I created the dynamic mapping backend using a combination of open-source geospatial software and public-domain data, as well as more traditional cartographic illustration software.

This whimsical diagram does more to obfuscate, rather than elucidate, the interrelationships between several generations of female experimental musicians.

It was used as an exhibition catalogue cover for an exhibit at South London Gallery of newly commissioned works by five women sound artists.
